Historic ruins with rich heritage

Nestled in the Khentii Mountains, the Baldan Bereeven Monastery is a significant spiritual site that once stood as one of Mongolia's largest monasteries. First built in 1777, it housed over 8,000 registered monks at its peak, serving as a major pilgrimage destination. Today, only ruins remain, but restoration efforts are underway, spearheaded by tourist-volunteers.
